Nurturing Your Ideas

April 21, 2013 · Heart Whispers

The following is an inspired writing by Niamh O’Grady. I thought it was beautiful and wanted to share. Thank you Niamh for allowing me to share for others!

Often life gives us what we want but because we are in a situation where we are doubting the things we need, we do not see them. We therefore feel forlorn, give up and feel that the Universe is not listening. But it is. You see, the thoughts we put out there are like seeds planted in the dark soil. Those seeds need nurturing, water, sunshine and tender loving care. Our thoughts are just the same. We need to give them the care they need to grow and blossom. If we keep pounding on the earth that those seeds are planted in then they cannot grow. So too are our thoughts. When are doubts come in or negative thoughts prevail we are pounding on them and they cannot grow. So for every negative thought that enters our mind, delete them, replace them with positive thoughts and watch them slowly take fruition, blossoming into the beautiful creation we asked for in the beginning. New beginnings can happen, can take time and our faith and hope is what needs to remain strong. Believe for thou shall receive. Hope, faith and trust are the words of the wise, the energy that is needed to grow. Belief and trust is like the sunshine and water on the seeds in the soil.

What is the Importance of Philosophy?

March 24, 2013 · Heart Whispers

To answer this question one must understand the meaning of philosophy. To be philosophical on any topic one must understand the topic inside out, upside-down, sideways, and diagonally. One must know the nuts and bolts, the inner and outer working that create the essence of what they are philosophizing about. Philosophy is a belief system. The pursuit of wisdom. It is common to see several completely different philosophies on one subject. That is the beauty of philosophy as it opens the minds of others to see all the possibilities that lie within the subject. It intricately carves many paths for one to choose to travel down as they explore the depths of understanding with the hope that in the end, they will have developed their own philosophy to share with others.

Philosophy is not something we force upon others. It is simply the gift of ones knowledge and understanding to another. It is up to the receiving recipient to decide what they would like to do with the information shared.

When asked to deliver your philosophical views on a particular subject, retreat within for insightful thoughts. Journey to the deepest part of your soul for it is the soul that carries the wisdom of your own philosophical views.

Perhaps one of the oldest philosophies around is that of ones religious or spiritual beliefs. Man can become quite passionate when discussing their views of God or a higher power. Why is it that man believes their views are the only way to live ones life? Passion. Passion for their beliefs becomes so intense within, it overpowers their sense of journey. They become lost along the way believing their way is the only way. They stay to their own path becoming blind to the paths that run parallel or criss-cross over. Their vision becomes narrower and narrower  until the only vision they have is that of their own in their tiny birds eye view.  Anything outside their vision becomes null and void. They’ve lost the ability to open their hearts to other philosophies of other religious beliefs.

As man shares their philosophy on their spiritual beliefs it is important to share with an open heart. Allow your compassion to come through with a loving gentle touch. The purpose of giving your philosophy is to impart wisdom to your fellow-man. It is not up to you to force your way of thinking upon them. If you’ve left them with thoughts to ponder, you have done your work.

The sharing of your philosophy is similar to a rose. You begin with the outer petals. You give just enough information to pull your listener in.  With each bit of wisdom you share, you pull a petal from the rose offering it to your listener to tuck away. Each petal represents one aspect of your philosophy, tiny bits of wisdom. You continue to share, offering the petals one by one until you come to the center of the rose where you find the most delicate, the softest petals of the entire rose. This is where the real beauty lies; the essence.  If you’ve done you work well, you become quiet at this time. You open your heart to love and offer the remaining rose to your listener. For you see, this is where their journey begins. You want them to journey to the center of the rose on their own. You’ve left the best part for them; the part of their own journey of self-discovery. You leave your wisdom as the rest is up to them.

It is important to know when to stop. If you continue to share all you know, you’re taking away the part of self-discovery. It is human nature to want to discover things on our own. It brings a sense of ownership to the lessons learned. If you continue to force your philosophical views upon your listeners, soon there will be no petals left on the rose. The only thing left will be the hard stem with a few sharp thorns.

Think about it. Is it better to leave your listener with thorns or the softest petals of the rose?

Philosophy: The sharing of wisdom, wetting the appetite of the listener just enough to inspire them to embark on a journey of self-discovery, perhaps on a new path they have never traveled before.

Transform Your Life

January 1, 2013 · Heart Whispers

A little inspiration that came to me this morning as I was writing. I thought I’d share.

Allow 2013 to be the year of transformation in any area of your life in need. Open your arms, thoughts, ideas and dreams to the new energy of 2013. Let the new year work towards your advantage by seizing every opportunity offered to you that brings your closer to your life’s purpose. Embrace the new, let go of what no longer serves you and transform your life into the truths that dwell within.

Have a BLESSED and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

Love, light and peace ♥sKr♥

Grab Your Child’s Hand and DON’T LET GO!

July 29, 2012 · Heart Whispers

English: Congestion on the London Underground

English: Congestion on the London Underground (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Yesterday, I got off the underground train (tube) and the train filled quickly with new passengers. The train doors shut and there was only me and two small children left on the platform. Their parents made it on the train but they did not. Fear and panic set in immediately from both children. The look on the parents faces cut through my heart. As a parent, I knew every emotion they were experiencing as they stared at their children helplessly. They frantically tried to open the doors but the were locked as the train was preparing to leave. The mother was mouthing instructions to stay put they’d be back. I was mouthing, I’ll stay with them until you return. The father had a look of “not in this lifetime will I leave my children on a subway platform with a stranger” The children were starting to cry. Just as the train began to roll, the father slammed his hand on the emergency stop button. The train came to a screeching halt. What seemed like an eternity, the doors finally opened and the children were rejoined with their parents. PARENTS, HOLD YOUR CHILD’S HAND! This family looked to be tourists in a foreign country,  in a very crowded London at the start of the Olympics! Masses of people were everywhere. This story could have ended tragically. GRAB THOSE HANDS AND DON’T LET GO!!!! PLEEEEEASE!

Forget mind the gap….MIND YOUR CHILDREN so you can watch them grow up! This could have happened to anyone, including me. Whew! It really made me stop and think. I hope it makes you stop and think too!

So happy all ended well….

The Battered Child

July 20, 2012 · Heart Whispers

broken soul all withered and worn

searching for a peaceful home

weary is the child who cries out in the night

fallen deaf ears don’t hear her plight

she whispers softly to Heaven above

God, can’t you please send me love

angels hear her plea

and rush to her on bended knee

we hear you child

do not fear

love is coming

it’s very near

keep the faith all is well

the angels will take you from this hell

broken soul withered and worn

searching for a peaceful home

weary is the child who cries out in the night

somebody please

hear her plight.

River2

The River

July 18, 2012 · Heart Whispers

Clear water runs rapidly over the stones

sun beating down like crystals from above

the river calls your name

you hesitate

be not afraid my child

become one with the river

it is your friend

waiting for you to join in

fear not the speed of the current below

become one with the current and

join in

the current is your friend, your ally

waiting to take you to your destination

the first step is the hardest

walk at your pace

step when you are ready

feel the water gently tumble over your toes

circling around your ankles

you are safe in the arms of love

move with the water

fighting no more

move elegantly along

letting the river move you still

the rivers knows your destination

let it take you there

remember to breathe when waters are fast

as they are part of the journey

fast waters are there to teach you lessons along the way

when waters become deep and slow

reflect on where you’ve been, the lessons learned

and prepare for what lies ahead

remember the importance of the slow water

as it too, has a lesson for you

go now child and remember

always go with the flow of the river

it is your friend.

In the Arms of My Angels

June 3, 2012 · Heart Whispers

To my blogging friends…I’ve been MIA for a while as I try to close out the end of yet another great school year. 8.5 days left of school but I’m NOT counting! wink wink  I’m horribly behind on award nominations. My apologies to those who have nominated me in the last few months. I have a month of traveling ahead and then maybe I can get caught up!

Recently I was asked why I sit with spirit. My only response was “When I am with spirit and the angels, I feel I’m home.” I have always known angels walk with me. My angels, and spirit helpers/guides are as much a part of my life as anyone here on earth.  I have lived my life alone for the most part but, I never feel alone. Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, I click my heels and I  go home where I know I am safe and loved.

Here is a little something that captures my innermost feelings of the world beyond.

when i am all alone

i close my eyes and fly

i fly to my home above the skies

a place where you can feel colors,

taste sounds, and see smells

i fly until i reach the golden archway

i step through and there

in my beautiful home

i am greeted by my angelic family

i am welcomed with open arms

no judgements here

no expectations

only love, sweet, sweet love

in the arms of my angels

i find strength and courage to carry on

in the arms of my angels

i see the wisdom that lies within

in the arms of my angels

i fear nothing

in the arms of my angels

i feel a love like no other

a connection that moves me to tears

in the arms of my angels

a knowingness of infinite love

travels through my veins

making a home in every cell of my body

in the arms of my angels

i can rest my weary heart

and heal all wounds

in the arms of my angels

i am never alone

they walk with me in my waking hours

and fly with me in my dreams

in the arms of my angels

i am home

Love, light, and peace

Bring Out the Child

May 12, 2012 · Heart Whispers

There is a child

residing in you

beckoning to come through

hear her giggles

in the rain

she wishes to wash away the pain

she loves you dear

with all her heart

she wants you to know

she’ll never part

give her this day

the gift of time

allowing her to

come out and shine

the days of young

seems so far away

yet the child in you

whispers, “you can still play”

enjoy your life

while here on Earth

dance, sing, laugh

and  smile
